The book, “Decoding Drumming,” features a unique music notation teaching system that has received years of positive feedback from my students. This method simplifies the process of learning to read music, making it more accessible.
The title “Decoding Drumming” is inspired by computer coding, particularly binary code, emphasizing a logical approach to mastering drumming.
This innovative method allows students to memorize 16 or 32-bar exercises in seconds. It caters to musicians of all abilities, including those with conditions such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, CAPD, hearing or visual impairments, and Alzheimer’s and other cognitive challenges.
The exercises are tailored for drummers ages 4 and up, covering a wide range of musical genres to enhance skills at all proficiency levels. The book is structured logically, enabling even visually impaired drummers to engage with and memorize the content without looking at the music notation.
I started playing drums at 12 and landed my first professional gig a year later. After earning my music degree in Budapest, I opened my first drum school at 18. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing thousands of concerts, from clubs and theaters to international festivals and concert arenas.
Throughout my career, I’ve also specialized in working with children and adults with diverse learning needs, including blind drummers. Today, after more than 30 years of teaching, my greatest passion is making drumming easier, more enjoyable, and accessible for every student.
